As partner of PANORAMED, the Italian Agency for Territorial Cohesion participates in a fruitful discussion organised by Interreg MED
Last 6 November, the delegate of the Italian Agency for Territorial Cohesion participated actively in the third panel of the ECOMONDO conference “Empowering territories for a Sustainable Mediterranean” organised in Rimini (Italy) by Interreg MED.
During the event, representatives from six thematic communities of the Programme presented their achievements and shared their challenges with private companies, local public authorities and international organisations, and invited them to discuss on three strategic axes for the future of the Mediterranean region:
- “Circular Bioeconomy opportunities and challenges in the MED area”;
- “Innovation for sustainability in the MED area”; and,
- “Governance, citizens awareness and participation for a Sustainable Mediterranean”.
This last panel discussion analysed new governance models and how changing behaviours can have a relevant impact for better lifestyles in the Mediterranean cities, and answered concrete questions related to topics of significant common interest, such as the elaboration of sustainability policies and the identification of existing best practices in the area concerned.
In fact, it was an excellent occasion to focus on how to make MED territories more sustainable by integrating resources, perspectives and results with other relevant projects, namely MADRE, Local4Green, REMEDIO and WETNET.
